I am moving out. I am signing a lease on Tuesday. I am moving to Shoreline next week. I am no longer going to be living with my parents and siblings after nearly 20 years. This is ridiculous.

My roomie is leaving Kokomo, Indiana at approximately 1200 hours CST on Monday. We sit down and sign the lease and paperwork at approximately 1700 hours PST on Tuesday.

It’s all just happening so fast. I don’t have pots and pans. I don’t have dishes. I don’t have a spatula. I don’t have towels. I don’t have a bed. Or a dresser. We don’t have a TV. We don’t have a table. There’s so much that we’ll need by the time we settle in and it’s just nuts.

The concept of moving out hasn’t really hit me yet. I don’t think it really will until I’ve been out for a good month. It’s bizarre to think that I won’t be coming home to a loud house anymore. That’ll be the weirdest thing to get over.

But mostly right now I’m focused on all this shit I need to scrounge up from the depths of craigslist and other venues. And the fact that I’ll need to find time to move some of this stuff in by Friday when our apartment warming/welcome Autumn to Seattle party is.

So much to do and seriously… not nearly enough time. When we went to look at the apartment yesterday we weren’t expecting to walk out with my application processed and everything ready to go. But it happened anyway. So ridiculous.

Am I really growing up for real?

I love taking pictures of people. It’s a conclusion that I’ve come to time after time, as well as the fact that I would love the opportunity to take more pictures of more people. It’s why I’ve just registered elysekufeldtphotography.com, so I can centralize my efforts and have a website I can point people toward who are even remotely interested.
