Portfolio

For as long as I can remember, I have been writing. Whether it was creating stories, writing about my day, analyzing why I do what I do and say what I say, writing papers about literature, formulating research papers, writing poems, roleplaying or blogging-- I have always written something. If, for some truly unGodly reason, I have managed to go even a week without writing, I find myself missing it. Writing is a part of who I am-- it is how I express and explore myself, how I test the world around me, and how I create things best. I will always write. No matter where life takes me, it can't take writing away.

As soon as I received my first low-end film camera, I began taking photographs. I love trying new and interesting ways of capturing what and who I see. I enjoy toting my Canon Digital Rebel XTi with me to various events, and love any opportunity presented to me to take portraits of people. While holding the camera and composing the photograph is an entirely rewarding part of the process for me, it is the digital dark room that captures my interest most. Taking control of the image, adusting the contrast and color levels, playing with other various aspects of the pictures, that is my favorite part of photography.

I was roughly nine years old when I made my first web page on some sort of generator. By sixth grade, however, I had taught myself HTML, and six months later, obtained a graphics program where I began mocking up designs. It was not long after that when I taught myself CSS and XHTML. I have created dozens of websites over the years, but only recently have returned to web design with the same level of passion I approached it with when I first began. The "Web 2.0" movement caught me off guard and put me off web design for a time. But, I have found a refreshed passion for creating beautiful designs. My portfolio is therefore currently out of date, as I have not been actively designing much since 2005. I am hoping, however, to expand my portfolio this year.
